Welcoming Averee Gentry as Program Administrator

We are delighted to welcome Averee Gentry to the Cultivating a Legacy of Living Faith grant team. Averee joined the program in February 2026 as Program Administrator, and we are grateful to God for bringing her gifts, warmth, and dedication to this work.

About Averee Gentry

Averee is an Ohio native who made her home in North Carolina in 2021, after spending much of her life in East Tennessee. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Entrepreneurship from Carson-Newman University and a Master of Divinity, earned in 2023 from McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University—where she graduated with a 3.959 GPA and was honored with a Theology Study Grant and the Zonie Brantley, Carolyn Ward Scholarship.

Averee’s background is as rich as it is varied. She has been actively involved in church and community throughout her life, and brings hands-on experience in event coordination, program logistics, vendor relations, and communications from her current role as Program Coordinator at Leadership Education at Duke Divinity. She is also a former co-owner and manager of a family-owned donut shop—an experience that sharpened her skills in operations, community engagement, and cultivating a sense of mission among a team.

Averee has a heart for Christian hospitality and a genuine passion for serving others and amplifying voices that might otherwise go unheard. Those qualities, combined with her organizational strengths and theological grounding, make her an excellent fit for the work of this grant initiative.

Her Role in the Grant Initiative

As Program Administrator, Averee supports the Program Director in the day-to-day coordination of the Cultivating a Legacy of Living Faith initiative. Working closely with the Program Director, she provides administrative, logistical, and communications support across all areas of the grant—from coordinating meetings and events to supporting partner engagement and keeping the team organized and on track.

We invite our grant partners and supporters to extend a warm welcome to Averee as she joins this important body of work. Please keep her and the entire grant team in your prayers as we commit to nurturing the faith of children and families in the years ahead.

Averee can be reached at averee@baptistgrovechurch.org.
